George tells WOFL people can be so cruel; WFTV analyst blasts Andrea Lyon
Andrea Lyon’s appearance on “Today” was only the start of Casey Anthony coverage today.
In an exclusive interview on WOFL-Channel 35, George Anthony says he has been living through hell since granddaughter Caylee’s disappearance.
He read an article he has written, titled “Living Under a Microscope.” He told WOFL’s Holly Bristow that the article was about what he had been through in the last year and a half. His daughter, Casey, has been charged with first-degree murder in the death of Caylee.
“Suddenly you are thrown into a life that you have no control over,” George Anthony read. “Your everyday walking, talking is analyzed, dissected and just plain torn apart.”
He said 9 out of 10 people are nice to him and wife Cindy Anthony. But the 10th can be cruel and noted that people pointed at him and snapped his picture as he traveled to the WOFL interview.
“I’ve asked many people: ‘Want to change places with me, walk in my shoes if only for a minute, a day?’ But they cannot,” he said. “People say, ‘I know what you are going through.’ The only person that knows are two of the people who have been through this.”
In a later portion of the WOFL interview, George Anthony said he still had suicidal thoughts after trying to take his life a year ago. “Do I hurt every day? Do I feel like I could jump out a window? Yeah,” he said. “But then again, I know I’ve got to deal with it, I’ve got to be here to see this through.”
He said he was proud of his new tattoo celebrating his granddaughter, “because Caylee is forever with me.”
Casey Anthony’s murder trial is likely to start this summer. Her check-fraud trial will be Jan. 25.
On WFTV-Channel 9, legal analyst Bill Sheaffer wasn’t impressed by Anthony defense attorney Lyon’s performance on “Today” this morning. Lyon complained that Anthony had been “pilloried” in the press and compared the coverage to the Salem witch trials.
“Quit whining and get to the defense of this case,” Sheaffer told WFTV’s Kathi Belich. “The facts are what the facts are. If that is tried before a jury in Orlando, Tampa, New York City or Timbuktu, the jurors are going to form their opinion based upon their view of the evidence.”
Lyon told NBC’s Meredith Vieira that the reason Casey is innocent won’t be revealed until the trial. Belich called Lyon’s comment the “defense’s flimsy mantra.”
And Belich added: “Sheaffer said if they had something really convincing that could spring Casey from jail, they would bring it now.”

Did anyone listen to the Levi Page Show tonight? I missed the first 20 minutes, but have downloaded the podcast to my ipod & will check it out tomorrow. I did get to hear (yummy!) Mark Eiglarsh laugh about A. Lyons stating Casey is innocent. He pointed out that the defense SHOULD be saying she’s “not guilty” as opposed to she’s innocent….also said he believes there will end up being a plea deal worked out. You can listen to it here:

I don’t know what Lyon is talking about when she says the truth will come 0ut at trial. I was under the impression that the defense had to turn over to the prosecution, by February1 of this year, the reason they believe Casey is innocent.

Thanks Ann- You know this is one of my favorite blogs and until recently, I felt safe in every place I’ve visited, especially here. I visited one site though (NOT THIS ONE), the other day- and almost immediately my computer was attacked (badly) and I had to wipe it and restore the system. It was a malicious attack that other folks have experienced too, and I have a good idea where it came from. Unfortunately, there is also some ID theft going on as far as names and avatars on other sites. So, without getting too specific, I just wanted the moderaters to take note of present IP’s in case these folks decide to visit TCD.

I thought the exat same thing about C&G knowing the smell of death, and going to work without calling the police. They knew the baby was dead. Some people have said they were in shock and could not have thought it was the baby, this is BS. GA told the guy at the tow company all his troubles and specified that his daughter REFUSED to let Cindy speak to Caylee..He told LE that he was greatful that neither KC or Caylee were in the trunk, he knew it would not have been KC, who was left?, he knew that too. Even retired cops still uphold the law, what happened to GA?
You hear about off duty officers saving the day, and retired officers still assisting the public, it is a code of ethics in most officers lives. Thank God he is no longer an officer. If he had, I shutter to think what he would have done? Help KC hide Caylee and they may have never found her. He is such a poor excuse of a grand-father, and father. He had no intention of getting of the merry go round that they exist on. Cindy’s family will face them in court I am certain, and I pray they are for the JUSTICE of one of their own. I feel sad for the great grand-parents, they got deprived of their golden years as a direct result of KC and Cindy.
When the trial begins and it concludes the whole world will not be surprised of the outcome, we will rejoice and cheer for Caylee the only victim in this case and we will never forget how hard the fight for her had to go because the buck got in the way. If Cindy’s family gives a interview I would watch, because I feel they will be truthful in their words. Anyone thus far that the A’s despise is strictly do to the fact that they refuse to believe in them when it is truely impossible to do so.
I just read this letter of George’s and he is so adamant that he is a “victim”. Caylee is the one and lets be straightforward about the visual, who at the very least, was duct taped, injected with some sort of foreign substance, put in three bags, left like garbage near the only home she really ever knew and God only knows what kind of animals got to her and whether or not she was dead prior to being put in those bags and how many times she may have been put and taken out of that trunk before being placed in that area near her home…which forensic science will prove was within days of her being actually dead. So, George, you have no right claiming any kind of VICTIMIZATION when these atrocities are horrible when hear of happening by a stranger to an adult but SHE WAS TWO YEARS OLD AND LAST SEEN IN THE POSSESSION OF YOUR ONLY DAUGHTER –HER MOTHER. Caylee, tragic victim who was victimized by the only family she ever knew and totally betrayed by in her short life. Now , again, who should we really feel sorry for? If you feel you have a voice to help search for missing children, where the He** was your voice shouting on the street corner when she actually was missing from your house PRIOR TO CINDY TAKING ACTION? We all know, us bloggers, that we would have taken care of that child. You failed in that job and it so disturbing that you are still in your Lalala land. Caylee never had a chance and you guys are milking the spotlight. I actually want to support you both as grieving grandparents but you and Cindy are abnormal in your so called grieving process. Anyone in their right mind would be screaming at Casey.
